Exile is now at the size where we have more people who want to raid than we have raid spots. This is especially true for the dps (a problem ALL guilds have). This means that whereas in the past we'd just throw whatever 10 people we could scrape together at the doors of Karazhan, we are now going to be a little more selective to ensure that the most commited people get their deserved raidspots, and to ensure we make progress.
If you wish to raid there are a few basic expectations of you.
1) GEAR UP. Simply having the Key to get in isn't good enough. You need to be at least fully equiped with blues. And by 'blues' I mean decent ones, mostly from level 70 instances and quests. This is the most basic requirement because if your gear is below this standard you're just not strong enough. Run 70s, get rep rewards, finish your group quests, check AH for any decent BoEs.
2) PvE TALENTBUILDS. PvP talent builds, and 'general all-purpose' talent builds do not cut it anymore. You need to spec for maximum raid efficiency. Bear in mind there's a difference between 'PvE spec' and 'raid spec'. If you're not sure about talent specs then either ask your classleader, or check out the official WoW forums; the Class Forums have excellent talent and spec guides to help you.
Note: we will not cross the line and force you to respec, however if you're not raid spec you will not get a raidspot over someone who is.
3) DRINK UP. You're expected to bring enough potions/elixirs/bandages/reagents for yourself. You don't have to use elixirs on trash, but on serious boss attempts you're expected to use them. Mana users are expected to carry plenty of mana potions with them and drink until you're sick! Everyone should have a bunch of health potions too. Bandages are mandatory for everyone, especially the dpsers.
Those 3 requirements are expected of you if you wish to get a raidspot. Due to bugs in GC we're now using the forum to signup for raids, just post in the appropriate thread to book yourself a raidspot. If you sign up for a raid you're expected to turn up, if you can't make it then repost in the thread and say you can't make it.
Basically, the more you put in to raiding the more you get out of it. You commit to us and we'll commit to you.
